The 099 is the “Christian Buzzfeed”. They are an Instagram account turned media outlet that shares all of the best, inspiring content in the world of Christianity to their community. Their values are spiritual wellness, unity, and love. As they transition from sharing content to creating their own content across many different mediums, they needed a memorable identity and strategy to support that unlimited expansion.
In order to emphasize unity, the logo needed contrast. It needed to show and celebrate two differences coming together. Sans-serif fonts with serif fonts; detailed illustration with simple type. Using a sheep as the logo mark alluded to the Scripture where “The 099” was taken from as well as the mission (“reach the one in your life”; Luke 15:3-7). The identity would be used across social media, print magazines, videos, and various forms of merchandise.
